ACCOUNTING TEMPLATE CONTROL / APPROVED MASTERS

Prevent Accounting Template Changes

Protect approved accounting workbook masters from accidental overwrites, edits and deletions with layered spreadsheet controls, restricted folders, version history and tested recovery.

EIGHT WORKBOOK-CONTROL ROUTES

Follow each workbook template from collection to controlled retirement.

Each route addresses one workbook-template decision with a unique photograph, procedure and control boundary.

INTERACTIVE RELEASE CHECK

Is this workbook template release packet ready for authorized staff member handoff?

Confirm scope, key separation, minimization, recipient authority, independent recovery and retention before release.

Confirm six controls before releasing the workbook template release packet.
CONTROL BOUNDARY

Folder protection does not validate a workbook.

Record sufficiency, workbook correctness, bookkeeping approval, staff authorization, authorized recipient authority, recipient acknowledgement, provider permissions and recovery require separate evidence. Start with the approved workbook master as the authoritative source, then document every released copy, purpose, owner and version. Keep locked cells, formula review, data validation, folder permissions, version history and backups as separate controls. A release record should show who approved the template, which inputs staff may edit, how the copy is named and when it expires. Before rollout, test the workbook with fictional transactions, confirm formula ranges and data validation, compare outputs with the approved master, and prove that an independent backup can restore the exact approved version.
